Freshman Application Updates
Official SAT and/or ACT scores must be sent directly from the testing agency as soon as possible. However, scores reported on the Common Application will be used until official scores are received, so we can keep your file moving through our review process. In order for your admission decision to be released, we must have official scores on file no later than January 1 for Early Action and March 1 for Regular Decision. All official scores received will be listed in the “Test Scores” section at mychecklist.gatech.edu. Self-reported scores will not be shown on your checklist.
The wrong teacher recommendation was sent to Georgia Tech. Can I update the recommendation for my application?
Recommendations are an optional factor for admission, and, for this reason, we are not able to accommodate changes in our office. One recommendation letter will not make or break your admission application!
My Application Information on my checklist shows me as a non-resident, but I believe I should be classified as Georgia.
Tuition classification (in-state residency) is confirmed during our initial application review. Please be patient as we will not begin first review of applications until October and it will take several weeks to review all students.
If you are admitted and believe your information is still incorrect, review your checklist to ensure we have not asked for any additional documents to confirm tuition status. If you have additional questions, please contact our office.
Tuition classification has no impact on admission decisions.
My Application Information on my Georgia Tech checklist shows me as a non-citizen, but I submitted my PR card.
Citizenship status is reviewed during our initial application review. Please review your checklist to ensure we have not asked for any additional documents to confirm citizenship status. Also, please be patient as we will not begin first review of applications until January and it will take several weeks to review all students.
If you believe your information is still incorrect after you have been admitted, please contact our office.
Document deadlines are posted for each application round. We recommend submitting your application prior to document submission, as it tends to be easier to match documents to applications already on file. To track documents received, please log into mychecklist.gatech.edu. Please allow one week for documents to be matched to your application now and two-three weeks at peak processing times around our application deadlines.
Any standardized test scores reported on your application will be considered during our review to ensure your application continues to move efficiently through our process. However, before your admission decision will be released, we MUST have official scores from the testing agency on file. More information is available here.
