Freshman Application

Georgia Tech is a selective institution (see our most recent class profile below); therefore, the freshman application process is competitive in nature. Each year we have many more students who apply than we can admit, so we use a holistic process when reviewing freshman applications to ensure we give all students the best opportunity to present a complete picture of their qualifications. Our holistic review includes consideration of five primary factors, listed below:

2013 Freshman Class Profile

  • Mid-50% GPA: 3.85 - 4.11
  • Mid-50% SAT: 2000 - 2210
  • Mid-50% ACT: 29 - 33
  • Average # of AP/IB/Dual Enrollment classes taken: 6 - 11

These numbers represent the mid-50% ranges (25th-75th percentile) of GPA, SAT, and ACT and average rigor for our most recent entering class and should be considered our competitive ranges.

Freshman Application Checklist

  • Consider which deadline is right for you, and view non-refundable application fees
  • Have your SAT/ACT scores sent directly from the testing agency
  • Request your high school transcript and school forms from your high school counselor
  • Apply using the Common Application
