From the whistle blowing between classes to the Rambling Wreck leading the football team out onto the field, there are so many long standing traditions on Georgia Tech’s campus. Favorite place on Campus: The Hinman Research Building, which is home to The College of Design. This 35,000 square foot facility successfully blends the old with the new. Much like the Institute, it has served a variety of purposes and has had to rise to the occasion of the times. Even if Architecture is not your intended major, do drop by this dramatic, award winning facility which originally opened in the 1930’s and was renovated and reopened in 2011. It has captured prizes in Architect Magazine, Building Design and Construction Magazine and Interior Design Magazine to name a few.
