Favorite Thing About Georgia Tech: My favorite thing would have to be all of Tech's quirky traditions. Whether it's the Freshman cake Race, RAT Caps, or singing "I'm a Ramblin' Wreck" after every touchdown, Tech students are very proud of their traditions and love to keep them going strong!
Favorite Place on Campus: The Tech Tower Lawn is beautiful year-round, when you're studying in the sun during the Spring or playing in the snow during Winter. With both Tech Tower and Bobby Dodd Football Stadium adjacent to the lawn, it's easy to forget you're in the heart of Atlanta!

Favorite thing about Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech is committed to what it does best. You’ll find that our 35 majors are all so technologically focused and creates a unique academic and social experience for our students. Every experience on campus leads to solving a problem with this focus in mind and it really sets graduates apart when they leave for their next steps.
Favorite place on Campus: Tech Green is definitely my favorite spot on campus. The space connects Wenn Student Center and Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons where you can grab a cup of Starbucks or a bite to eat with friends. It’s also lovely green space with hammocks for reading under the trees, a quad for campus events and food trucks for lunch every day!
Favorite Place in Atlanta: I love Piedmont Park! There is always an event taking place, whether a festival, 5K, or concert. You can always grab Atlanta’s famous King of Pops across the street (the best flavor is Thai Iced Tea). On Sundays, it’s a wonderful place to sit on a bench and read in front of a lake or overlooking the midtown skyscrapers.
Favorite Restaurant near Campus: Negril Village is one of the best brunch spots in Atlanta but the food is just as good Tuesday through Saturday. Negril’s mixes Caribbean island flavor with a Southern twist.
What I recommend to do while in Atlanta: Pay a tribute to alumnus Ryan Gravel and take a stroll, run, or ride through the Atlanta Beltline – the fruition of his master’s thesis. There are plenty of fun outdoor activities to try as you make your way through the city (like rec soccer at sunset and yoga on Tuesdays) or stop through the Ponce City Market for dinner, shopping and games on the roof top.
Years at Tech: Less than 1.
Favorite thing about Georgia Tech: I love all of the traditions that exist on campus! From the whistle blowing between classes to the Rambling Wreck leading the football team out onto the field, there are so many long standing traditions on Georgia Tech’s campus. My favorite tradition is when first-year students decorate their RAT cap. Whether you are a current student or attended Georgia Tech 50 years ago, all students’ RAT caps are still decorated in the same exact way!
Favorite place on Campus: The Bill Moore Student Success Center, which is home to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. This is where we welcome prospective students on a daily basis, when the come to visit campus. It is always great to meet visitors who are traveling from all over to experience Georgia Tech firsthand.
Favorite Place in Atlanta: Ponce City Market has so many different food options, access to the Beltline and even has miniature golf course on the roof! I just keep going back to try different food vendors. (Krog Street Market is set up very similarly and also has great food options!)
Favorite Restaurant near Campus: Since I am originally from the Northeast, I have come to love authentic southern cuisine and there is no better place than Mary Mac’s Tea Room! If you are visiting from out-of-town, you need to find time to make it to Mary Mac’s!
What I recommend to do while in Atlanta: The World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium and CNN Center are all great options if you want to hit some of the major tourist attractions in the city! I also recommend spending some time on the Beltline or head to Piedmont Park. Favorite Thing about Georgia Tech: The amazing people that make up the Georgia Tech Community- students, faculty, staff, alumni, and my COLLEAGUES in the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Favorite Place on Campus: Bobby Dodd Stadium at night - we have the BEST views of the Atlanta skyline. My kids also love the CRC and the indoor water slide.
Favorite Place in Atlanta: The Westside!

I love that students can come to collaborate and learn in an environment that continually encourages and pushes them to grow, not only as students, but as a person as a whole. What students learn in the classroom is balanced out by the experiences and memories they make by interacting with people they may not have met otherwise.
Favorite place on Campus: Clough Rooftop! The view of the Atlanta Skyline is beautiful and such a breath of fresh air during a busy day. It allows you to take in the majority of the city in one view.

I encourage you to learn about George P. Burdell, the father of football's Holy Trinity at Tech, and the Ramblin' Wreck.
Favorite Place on Campus: First and foremost, the iconic Tech Tower. But I also love the undergraduate admission office in the Bill Moore Student Success Center to the right of Tech Tower. When you walk in to register for a visit at Tech you will find our office overlooks Bobby Dodd Stadium, the oldest on-campus stadium in NCAA Division I-A. Yellow Jacket pride abounds from first setting foot on campus.
Favorite Restaurant near Campus: Gio's Chicken Amalfitano. You will likely hear someone mention the pizza at Antico, but my nod goes to its sister restaurant next door...I might change my mind upon visiting the gelateria by its side, Caffe Gio. Giovanni Di Palma, the founder of this mix of establishments, is well on his way to creating his envisioned Piazza San Gennaro, inspired by the one in Naples. In his words, it is a "congregation point and destination for everyone in Atlanta" and everyone will soon be saying "Meet me at the piazza."
