We offer two different options for families in need of mobility assistance. The first is a wheelchair accessible tour route, which utilizes elevators wherever possible. This route highlights the same resources and facilities as our usual route and provides a comprehensive overview of campus. If you are interested in our wheelchair accessible tour route, please email Gavin Waits at least 24 hours prior to your visit.
The second, and less recommended, option is a trolley tour of campus. Your party, along with one of our trained tour guides, will ride a campus trolleys around the perimeter of campus. The tour guide will provide you information about the buildings visible from the trolley and answer any questions you have about campus life and academics. This tour route gives you the opportunity to see all of campus but does not allow you the benefit of entering any buildings or seeing Tech’s sprawling green spaces. If you are interested in this option, please inform the check-in desk when you arrive on campus.
If someone in your party has a hearing impairment, please notify Gavin Waits a minimum of 24 hours in advance. The admission counselor providing the information session will utilize a microphone to ensure that you are able to clearly hear the presentation and your tour guide will also be equipped with a microphone. We are unable to offer interpreters, but can provide you with a printed copy of the presentation.
Guides Dogs are welcome on campus and within all buildings. If you will be bringing a guide dog, please let us know a minimum of 24 hours in advance, so that we can inform your tour guide.
Disability Services is available to meet with families throughout the day. If you are interested in speaking to someone about available accommodations, please contact them directly to request an appointment.
If you have additional questions, please contact Gavin Waits. We look forward to having you visit campus!
