Major Confirmation

In order to ensure all first-year students are able to register for the appropriate FASET Orientation session, deposited first-year students must first confirm their major via their admission portal.

You can learn more about available majors at Georgia Tech and find resources to help you explore what area of academic focus is best for you.

Due to high-demand, first-year students who are admitted Summer 2024 and beyond will not have the option to confirm their major to the BS in Computer Science. This does not apply to 2024 first-year applicants who applied with a primary major in Computer Science and were admitted. Learn more.

Can I complete this form more than once?
No. You will not be eligible to request another major until your first fall semester of enrollment. The process for changing your major as a Georgia Tech student is outlined here.

What if I have a scholarship related to my major?
Some scholarships are major specific, and your eligibility for that award could be impacted by any update you make to your original major selection on your application. If you are awarded a scholarship for a particular program of study, please contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid before making any changes.

Do I have to do anything if I don’t want to make a change?
If you do not wish to update your major, you may simply confirm the one listed on your original application. All students must confirm their major prior to registering for FASET Orientation.

Can I add a secondary major or a minor?
Selecting a secondary major or minor is something you will do after enrolling at Georgia Tech.

Does this count as my first unrestricted major change?
No. This is not considered a major change, but an opportunity to confirm your program of study prior to your first advisement session.

What if I decide to change my major later?
Future major changes fall under Georgia Tech's official change of major policy.
