First-year students admitted to the summer term must participate in iGniTe or another summer program. This is a great opportunity to get a head start on classes, learn the campus, and make friends!
More than 500 students in our first-year class will begin in the summer term. Enrolling students for the summer term allows us to expand our first-year class size and reduce individual class sizes. Students in years past who have started classes in the summer have told us they appreciated and valued the chance to get a jump start on their time at Tech.
Students admitted for the summer term should plan to begin classes in June. Typically, the only students who will be permitted to change their official start term to fall are those participating in other summer programs like Challenge and First-Year Semester Abroad.
