First-Year Session and Tour

For the latest information on impacts of COVID-19 to Undergraduate Admission, visit

First-year information sessions are offered every weekday except holidays, and are designed to give prospective high school students an introduction to Georgia Tech.

The session is conducted by a counselor from the Office of Undergraduate Admission who discusses the admission process, majors, opportunities outside of the classroom,  campus activities, and student life. Each session is followed by a walking tour of campus lead by one of our Tour Guides. Our tour, which lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, allows you to see the following areas of campus:

  • Historic and Academic Center of campus (Including the Bill Moore Success Center & Tech Tower)
  • Library
  • Student Center
  • Campus Recreation Center
  • Clough Undergraduate Learning Center
  • Classrooms

We encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing as our tour covers about 1.75 miles of campus.

Enhance Your Visit

In order to learn more about your chosen major and augment our general information session and campus tour, we recommend attending a academic-based information session. These sessions are available once per week to once per month for most of our colleges and some of our individual majors and academic programs.

Please note: the reservation form will ask how many guests are in your party. The number of guests should NOT include the student, as the student is the primary registrant for the event.
